Asha Sharma, Microsoft’s new head of Xbox, is pushing a new hardware and service strategy centered on cutting the cost burden of Game Pass and restoring a console-led brand identity. The plan includes more flexible subscription tiers, possible bundles with other services and options to manage costs around day-one releases. Microsoft is also resetting marketing and prioritising long-requested interface features while investing in engineering and data foundations ahead of next-generation console Project Helix.

Microsoft to add AI Copilot to Xbox, set for release this year
Microsoft will add an AI-based Gaming Copilot feature to Xbox consoles, The Verge reported on March 13. The report cited an announcement by Xbox AI product manager Sonali Yadav (소날리 야다브). Gaming Copilot is an AI assistant being beta tested on the Xbox mobile app, Windows 11 and the Xbox Ally handheld device. It provides in-game help via voice commands. Yadav said the feature will apply to “current-generation consoles” but did not specify models.
