Perplexity released a research preview of a model it post-trained from Chinese open-source AI model GLM 5.2 for its agent system. It said the model delivers performance comparable to Anthropic\'s Claude Opus 4.8 at about one-third of the cost, routing most tasks to GLM 5.2 and sending only difficult ones to Opus 4.8. Perplexity unveils general-purpose AI agent \'Computer\' mobilising Claude, GPT and Gemini
Perplexity has launched a new tool, \'Computer\', that uses AI agents to automate complex work across research, design, coding, deployment and management within a single system. The platform orchestrates multiple frontier AI models to run workflows automatically, with Anthropic\'s Claude Opus 4.6 as the core engine. It runs in an isolated cloud environment with access to local files, a real browser and tool integrations. The service is limited to Perplexity Max subscribers and is expected to open to Enterprise Max users.
