Windows 11 update triggers shutdown error, Microsoft releases emergency patch
A Windows 11 security update, KB5074109, triggered a bug that prevented some devices from shutting down and instead forced an automatic reboot. Microsoft issued an emergency patch on Jan. 17 to address the issue affecting devices using Secure Launch. Users also reported Remote Desktop credential entry failures and brief black screens after the update on both Nvidia and AMD graphics cards. Outlook Classic and File Explorer bugs were also reported.
