KISA begins testing OpenAI\'s GPT-5.5 Cyber as Mythos access nears

South Korea has begun testing an AI cybersecurity frontier model to set the government\'s response direction to AI security threats and apply results to industry. The Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) under the Ministry of Science and ICT has entered tests of OpenAI\'s \'GPT-5.5 Cyber\'. KISA is verifying whether the model can be used to identify and respond to threats and may expand use to software and infrastructure checks. KISA is also moving to secure access to Anthropic\'s Mythos model.

OpenAI to unveil new AI model codenamed \'5.6\' in June

OpenAI plans to release a new AI model in June that is expected to surpass its current flagship GPT-5.5, a report said. The Information cited a person familiar with the timeline as saying the model is codenamed \'5.6\'. OpenAI chief scientist Jakub Pachocki said in a message to staff that the new model delivered meaningful improvements over GPT-5.5, the report said.

Anthropic blocks sensitive queries in first public Mythos-class AI model

Anthropic has released its first public Mythos-class model, Claude Fable 5, while applying strict limits on cyber security, biology and chemistry-related queries. The public version reroutes sensitive questions to an earlier model, Claude Opus 4.8, and notifies users. A separate restricted model is offered only to vetted cyber defence personnel. Anthropic said the guardrails are stricter than ideal, with false positives under 5 percent of sessions.
