Oppo shifts to premium strategy in Europe to challenge Apple and Samsung

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo is taking aim at Europe’s premium smartphone market dominated by Apple and Samsung Electronics, seeking to expand its share with a higher-end strategy focused on camera and AI technology rather than budget models. Oppo’s Europe CEO Elvis Zhou said consumers may want a third choice. Global shipments fell to the lowest third-quarter level in 14 years, Counterpoint Research said, while Oppo’s Europe share remains 1 to 4 percent.
