Robots pay in USDC as unmanned economy draws closer
Stablecoin issuer Circle said it completed a test with OpenMind in which a robot paid a charging-station fee directly in USDC and finished charging without human involvement. CoinPost reported the robot, Bits, demonstrated the process, signalling machine-to-machine micropayments. Circle is promoting the x402 payment protocol tied to HTTP requests. CEO Jeremy Allaire said stablecoins are the only practical option for AI agents needing cross-border payments.
