Schneider Electric to buy PTC for $22.6 billion to bolster industrial AI software
France\'s Schneider Electric will buy U.S. industrial software company PTC for $22.6 billion, the Wall Street Journal reported. Schneider shares fell more than 8 percent in morning European trade, while PTC jumped 35 percent in U.S. premarket trading. Schneider expects the deal to help it expand into product design and engineering and prepare for an industrial AI era. The companies aim to close the transaction by the third quarter of 2027.

Schneider Electric nears $20 billion acquisition of PTC
Schneider Electric is nearing a deal to acquire U.S. engineering software company PTC for about $20 billion, the Financial Times reported on Oct. 4, citing sources familiar with the matter. The deal could be announced as soon as Oct. 5, though the two companies are still in talks and there is no certainty it will be completed. PTC has a market value of $15.5 billion.

Schneider Electric, Foxconn to co-develop AI data centre infrastructure
Foxconn and Schneider Electric will jointly develop infrastructure for AI data centres, with production of co-developed products set to begin this year. Foxconn will handle AI system hardware manufacturing, while Schneider Electric will be responsible for data centre power supply, cooling and energy management. The companies also plan to jointly develop AI data centre standard designs applicable worldwide and study technologies to optimise energy use for AI workloads.
