Soneium to hand blockchain operations to OP Enterprise
OP Enterprise, a blockchain infrastructure and operations service released for businesses by Optimism developer OP Labs, will be used to run Soneium, Sony’s layer-2 blockchain. The Optimism Foundation and OP Labs will support operations in a fully managed model, covering deployment, upgrades, sequencer and node infrastructure, daily monitoring and incident response. The parties set a 99.9 percent monthly uptime target under an SLA and will respond 24/7 in emergencies.

Optimism steps up Korea push, unveils ties with Dunamu, Toss and DB Financial Investment
Blockchain infrastructure company Optimism said it is stepping up its business in South Korea, disclosing partnerships with Dunamu’s GIWA blockchain, fintech firm Toss and DB Financial Investment. It plans to expand on-chain finance infrastructure for local financial institutions, fintech and digital asset companies through OP Enterprise. The firm said it has signed memorandums of understanding with Dunamu and Toss and will cooperate with DB Financial Investment on STO and RWA projects linked to Jeju.

Ethereum layer2 developer OP Labs cuts 20 jobs to focus on core strategy
OP Labs, the developer supporting Ethereum layer2 scaling network Optimism, carried out an internal restructuring to strengthen its strategic focus, CoinDesk reported. CEO Jing Wang said on X that the company cut 20 employees. Wang said the move was not due to financial issues and that OP Labs has sufficient capital. OP Labs develops layer2 technology to speed transactions and reduce fees. OP token fell about 3 percent over 24 hours after the announcement.
