Dell Technologies unveils next-generation supercomputer server targeting HPC and AI, expands Dell AI Factory
Dell Technologies on Monday unveiled the Dell PowerEdge XE8812, a new server adopting Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL4 architecture. The company said the system can support up to 144 GPUs per rack and will be added to the Nvidia-based Dell AI Factory lineup. Dell plans to accelerate expansion of Dell AI Factory across global fields including engineering and design workflows, genomics and efforts to advance sovereign AI initiatives. The server is due for global launch in early 2027.

South Korea secures 9,704 advanced GPUs to be run by Naver Cloud, Samsung SDS and Elice Group
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT has selected Naver Cloud, Samsung SDS and Elice Group for a project to secure, build and operate advanced graphics processing units, it said on Sunday. The 2.08 trillion won programme will secure 9,704 GPUs, including 2,016 Nvidia Vera Rubin units and 7,688 B300 units. The ministry plans to support AI computing needs for public and private innovation and phase in services this year.

SKT to build gigawatt-scale AI factory with Nvidia, first operation in 2027
SK Telecom will work with Nvidia to target the global AI infrastructure market by building a full-stack AI cloud based on Nvidia\'s DSX platform and scaling an AI factory to gigawatt capacity. SKT said SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang reviewed the roadmap at a meeting in Taiwan and agreed on group-level cooperation. The first AI factory will start operating in South Korea in 2027.
