Nscale in talks with Anthropic on additional $45 billion computing deal

Neocloud company Nscale is discussing an additional $45 billion AI computing supply agreement with Anthropic, Reuters reported on Oct. 19, citing sources. Bloomberg first reported the talks. Nscale is negotiating with Anthropic over a second building at the Monarch data centre campus in West Virginia. The facility would provide 460 megawatts of computing power using Nvidia’s latest AI chip, Vera Rubin.

Microsoft scraps UK Nscale data centre deal

Microsoft has pulled out of a data centre deal it was pursuing with British cloud company Nscale, Reuters reported on Oct. 18, citing the Telegraph. The report said Microsoft, one of Nscale\'s two biggest customers, recently terminated a contract for the Loughton data centre in Essex. Nscale said its relationship with Microsoft remained strong and long-term, and that it would continue the Loughton project and its UK business while seeking alternative power sources.
