NH NongHyup Financial first-half net profit rises 9.2 percent to 1.78 trillion won

NH NongHyup Financial Group posted a record first-half net profit of 1.78 trillion won, up 9.2 percent from a year earlier, supported by growth in both interest and non-interest income. NH NongHyup Financial speeds up AI shift, begins building group governance

NH NongHyup Financial Group is moving to build an enterprise-wide AI governance framework as the use of AI expands in the financial sector. It plans to set group-level standards and apply risk management criteria tailored to each affiliate’s work environment. The company aims to complete the framework within this year in line with financial regulators’ AI policy direction. It is also running an enterprise-wide task structure involving relevant departments and plans training, change management, and pilot verification.

Financial Services Commission, industry ministry to grow physical AI firms with National Growth Fund

South Korea\'s Financial Services Commission and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will link the National Growth Fund with a manufacturing AI transformation project to identify and support leading companies in physical AI. They discussed support measures at a joint public-private meeting at Korea Development Bank. The plan targets sectors including AI factories, robots and future vehicles, with about 16 trillion won to be supplied this year across six related fields.
