Nvidia begins mass production of Groq 3 LPX for AI agents
Nvidia has shifted its Groq 3 LPX inference accelerator for AI agents into mass production. The chip extends Nvidia\'s Vera Rubin data center platform and targets high-speed token generation to reduce decode latency in agent workflows. In an Artificial Analysis benchmark, it produced 3,400 tokens per second running the open-source Gemma 4 31B model with a 100,000-token context window. Nebius Group is among early adopters, and SpaceX was named a new flagship customer.

CoreWeave backlog tops $100 billion; AI, power, server and memory stocks rise
AI infrastructure shares rose on Aug. 12 after CoreWeave, Super Micro Computer and Nebius Group reported quarterly results above market expectations. Nebius gained about 23 percent and CoreWeave rose about 19 percent. Investors focused on CoreWeave’s backlog, which topped $100 billion, up about 50 percent from the previous quarter, with another $25 billion in orders after quarter-end. Funding costs, and limits tied to power and cooling, remained key issues.

Nvidia emerges as major investor in AI ecosystem, puts in $40 billion this year
Nvidia is sharply increasing investment across the AI infrastructure supply chain, CNBC reported. The company has already made investment commitments of more than $40 billion in 2026 and is expanding its portfolio to listed companies. This week, it secured rights to invest up to $2.1 billion in data centre operator IREN and up to $3.2 billion in fibre optics company Corning. CEO Jensen Huang said it is not picking winners and aims to broaden the ecosystem.
