South Korea to step up drive to recruit Korean scientists in Europe with event in France
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT is seeking to recruit Korean scientists and engineers working in Europe. The ministry said it will hold a talent recruitment event in Toulouse, France, on July 21 in connection with the 2026 Korea-Europe Conference on Science and Technology. Government ministries, public agencies, universities, research institutes and companies will take part, offering consultations on hiring plans and researcher support. The ministry will also pilot an online platform from July 21.

NST appoints Kyung Hee University professor Ko Sung-kyu as new head of Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine
The National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) has appointed Ko Sung-kyu (고성규), a professor at Kyung Hee University’s College of Korean Medicine, as the new head of the Korea Institute of Oriental Medicine. NST made the appointment at an extraordinary board meeting on April 8. Ko holds degrees in Korean medicine from Kyung Hee University and a medical doctorate from Seoul National University. His three-year term begins on April 9.

NST to hold monthly joint hiring with government-funded research institutes
South Korea\'s National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) said on Monday it will conduct regular joint recruitment every month with government-funded science and technology research institutes under its jurisdiction. The programme is intended to address difficulties job seekers faced in predicting hiring periods due to differing schedules across institutes. This month, 14 institutes plan to hire 260 people, with applications due by March 18.
