Kakao adds \'Book Eum Card\' to KakaoTalk Wallet, linking about 3,000 libraries

Kakao said on July 2 it has introduced the Talk Digital Card \'Book Eum Card\' in KakaoTalk Wallet, allowing users to access the Book Eum service run by the National Library of Korea under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Book Eum lets users access participating libraries nationwide with a single membership card. Kakao said users can use about 3,000 libraries without installing another app or carrying a physical card.

National AI strategy committee holds meeting with Dokpamo firms, hears data shortages

South Korea\'s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Committee held a meeting on Wednesday with national AI companies to discuss ways to secure data needed to develop a Korean independent AI foundation model project known as Dokpamo. LG AI Research, Upstage, SK Telecom and Motif Technologies shared on-the-ground difficulties and made proposals, including regulatory changes, copyright-system improvements, expanded verification and refinement of shared data, and a national high-quality Korean pretraining dataset.
