Nexon Q1 operating profit jumps 40 percent on MapleStory, Ark Raiders success
Nexon said it achieved its best-ever quarterly results on the back of global success for the MapleStory franchise and Ark Raiders. The company posted first-quarter consolidated revenue of 1.42 trillion won and operating profit of 542.6 billion won, up 34 percent and 40 percent from a year earlier. Overseas revenue rose 59 percent. Nexon provided second-quarter revenue and profit guidance and outlined partnerships and upcoming game launches.

Nexon CEO Lee Jung-heon aims to build lifelong relationships with players
Nexon CEO Lee Jung-heon said the company aims to move beyond one-off purchases to build lifelong relationships with players. Speaking at a capital market briefing in Tokyo, he reviewed progress since 2024 and outlined plans including franchise expansion, a pipeline of six new titles and an AI strategy called Monolake. He cited weaker results for Dungeon & Fighter Mobile and The First Descendant, while pointing to growth across MapleStory and Dungeon & Fighter PC.

Crimson Desert, Seven Deadly Sins, Cookie Run crowd March game market
South Korea’s game market in March is set for a rush of major releases and closed beta tests. Netmarble is launching Stone Age: Growing and The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin across platforms. Pearl Abyss will release Crimson Desert globally on multiple platforms. NHN plans a March launch for Dissidia Duelium Final Fantasy, while Devsisters will release Cookie Run: OvenSmash. Nexon and NCSoft will run tests for Nakwon: Last Paradise and Time Takers.
