[DigitalToday reporter Hojeong Lee] Nexon said on Wednesday it will hold a global closed alpha test of its new zombie survival title “Nakwon: Last Paradise” (Nakwon) from March 12.
The test will run from 9 a.m. on March 12 to 5 p.m. on March 16, Korea time, on PC via Steam in East Asia including South Korea and in parts of North America and South America. Users can apply to preregister on the Steam store page. A new trailer released with the schedule shows survivors attacking others to secure food and fleeing from swarms of zombies in downtown Seoul left in ruins after a zombie apocalypse.
In this test, the company will unveil content that is greatly expanded compared with the previous pre-alpha test. It will add more than 60 types of melee weapons, including a fire axe used at fire scenes, a heavy construction hammer and a riot shield. It also plans to offer a more varied combat experience through seven types of ranged weapons with different characteristics, including a powerful revolver and a fast pistol.
It also plans to reinforce survival and living systems. The game will introduce a skill tree system that lets players combine various active and passive skills obtained through trait points. It will add new environments alongside the existing dark night setting, including daytime with improved visibility and heavy rain where the sound of rain covers noise, adding variables to survival. The shelter can be fitted with various furniture items, including a workbench and a refrigerator. It also plans to further boost immersion in the post-apocalyptic world through a feature that lets players move to a larger residence by raising their citizen grade.
