South Korea to cut national R&D administrative forms to 154 from 2,171
South Korea will sharply reduce administrative paperwork tied to national research and development projects and integrate research support systems, aiming to let researchers spend less time on forms and evidence submissions. The Ministry of Science and ICT said a reform plan was approved at a ministerial meeting on May 29. The plan would abolish 1,952 forms, digitise 65 and standardise the rest as 154 permitted forms, while upgrading IRIS and integrating major support systems by 2028.

Korea science ministry to use AI in R&D budget review
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will use an AI system tailored to budget reviews for allocating and adjusting national R&D spending from this year. Named \"Yeon-ye-in\", the system is designed to shift reviews to a data-based approach and improve efficiency and expertise. Built with KISTI and ETRI, it was trained on about 5,000 project documents and will link to NTIS research output data.

MSIT to gather public opinions on fifth basic plan to foster science and technology talent
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said on March 8 it will operate an online public feedback platform, \"Science and Technology Talent Voice 5.0,\" to help draw up the fifth basic plan for fostering and supporting science and technology talent for 2026 to 2030. The platform will run from March 9 to 20 and be accessible through ministry and related 기관 websites. The plan is expected to be finalised in the first half of this year.
