NH reform pledge questioned as lawmakers press probe status on 14 misconduct allegations
South Korean lawmakers debated reform plans for the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation, including how its chairman is elected and the independence of audit bodies, during a parliamentary audit. Lawmakers questioned whether expanding the chairman vote to all cooperative members is legally consistent and properly agreed. Opposition lawmakers also demanded submission of investigation updates on 14 alleged misconduct cases. The audit also reviewed conversion of unused NH points to local currency and attendance issues.

NH NongHyup Bank launches NH Modotour travel savings product
NH NongHyup Bank has launched a savings product in partnership with Modetour that combines travel funding with travel benefits. The bank will sell 10,000 accounts of the NH Modotour travel savings product from July 31 to Sept. 30. The 3-month flexible deposit savings plan allows monthly payments of 10,000 to 1,000,000 won. The base interest rate is 2.25 percent a year as of July 31, with additional preferential rates available.

NH Nonghyup Bank practices sharing through NH points donations
NH Nonghyup Bank said on Wednesday it delivered 37,132,958 won worth of NH points donated by NH Members customers last year to charities. The funds came from customers who voluntarily donated points via the NH Members app. The donations were delivered to five groups, including Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation and Good Neighbors, and are to be used for protecting vulnerable children at home and abroad and for cooperation projects linked to agriculture and rural areas.
