Needs Games builds next-generation game environment on Oracle Cloud

South Korean game developer Needs Games said on Feb. 9 it adopted Oracle Cloud Infrastructure to develop and run its next-generation dark fantasy action RPG Dark December. The company said it reduced operating costs by 50 percent and improved game stability, while building a scalable technology foundation to support innovation and continued growth. It also said it built a development and operations environment using OCI Compute Virtual Machines and moved its on-premises database environment to MySQL HeatWave.

Oracle provides cloud services to golf IT platform Smartscore

Smartscore said on Jan. 26 it moved its enterprise systems to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, boosting performance of service operations systems, including its customer-facing ERP, by 30 percent and cutting operating costs by 60 percent. Founded in 2015, it has provided solutions to about 420 golf courses in South Korea. Oracle said Smartscore adopted OCI to run its new golf course ERP in a cloud-based environment where database performance is critical.
