Countdown to amended Special Financial Information Act puts digital asset industry focus on governance reshuffle
South Korea will implement an amended Special Financial Information Act on Aug. 20, expanding screening of digital asset operators to include major shareholders and governance structures. An enforcement decree allows exceptions when violations are minor or punished under vicarious liability rules, easing some uncertainty around Naver Financial and Dunamu’s share-swap plan. Regulators will also tighten requirements on leverage, creditworthiness and internal controls, likely increasing compliance burdens for smaller operators.

KB Securities adopts fair trade compliance programme to strengthen compliance culture
KB Securities has introduced a fair trade compliance programme (CP) and is moving to expand a voluntary compliance culture. The company aims to strengthen its internal compliance system to establish a fair trading order and boost financial consumer trust. It said it held a declaration ceremony for the programme. The system is an internal compliance framework for voluntarily observing fair trade laws and is evaluated and operated by the Korea Fair Trade Mediation Agency under the Fair Trade Commission.
