Xiaomi pushes smartphone camera innovation with modular optical system
Xiaomi is turning its Modular Optical System, previously shown as a concept, into a product and signalling a shift in smartphone photography. A report said the system has entered mass-production stages. The attachable module uses LaserLink Communication to send optical data to a phone at up to 10 Gbps, enabling real-time handling of large RAW files. It features a 6-element aspherical lens group and f/1.4 aperture, with a plug-and-play magnetic attachment and a limited supporting role for AI.
