Metaplanet CEO dismisses selling rumours after $322 million bitcoin transfer

Metaplanet denied rumours it sold bitcoin after moving 5,014 BTC between custody addresses. Cointelegraph reported that CEO Simon Gerovich said the transfer was routine custody operations, that the company did not sell any bitcoin, and that its holdings remained at 43,000 BTC. The transfers occurred over 24 hours from Aug. 12 and were valued at about $322 million, with network fees of about $8.

Japan stablecoin issuer JPYC raises total 6 billion yen in Series B extension round

Japanese stablecoin issuer JPYC has raised total investment of 6 billion yen ($38 million) in a Series B extension round. The company plans to use the funds to expand its finance and Web3 ecosystem and increase adoption of its yen-pegged stablecoin, JPYC. Logistics company AZ-COM Maruwa invested 1 billion yen in the round. AZ-COM Maruwa plans to pay fees and wages in JPYC to about 2,300 partners and sole proprietors.
