Broadcasting Media Telecommunications Commission cuts YTN, Yonhap News TV approval period by 3 months over CEO recommendation committee

South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Telecommunications Commission imposed a three-month cut to the approval validity period for YTN and Yonhap News TV for failing to form a CEO recommendation committee required under the Broadcasting Act. The commission ordered both broadcasters to rectify the violations by Oct. 10. It said earlier corrective orders issued in May were not met by the July deadline and noted the violations have persisted for about a year since the law took effect.

CryptoQuant says bitcoin above $83,000 would confirm entry into new bull market

Bitcoin may have entered a new bull market, though profit-taking could increase volatility in the early stage, a report said. CryptoQuant said the market phase may be shifting from bearish to bullish after bitcoin jumped 24% since Aug. 17 and briefly hit $80,000. It cited faster spot demand growth, rising spot and futures demand, higher unrealised gains and increased exchange deposits. CryptoQuant highlighted $83,000 as a key level.

Krafton seeks next IP with PUBG and Subnautica as twin pillars after record results

Krafton posted record results for the second quarter and first half, driven by expanding users and revenue for the PUBG franchise and early success for Subnautica 2. The company plans to unveil five new games at Gamescom in August and broaden AI research beyond games to physical AI. It also cited variables such as ADK’s advertising weakness and non-operating costs, while expanding shareholder returns through buybacks, dividends and planned share cancellations.
