Anthropic\'s Claude Code usage limit calculation sparks dispute

Anthropic\'s AI chatbot Claude is facing user reports that usage limits are reached quickly despite paid plans. A user on the $100-a-month Max 5x tier said the allowance was exhausted in 1 hour 30 minutes and that limits returned after light use. The user suspected background sessions performed large cache reads and questioned whether cache inputs were discounted as billed. The Claude Code team said it is reviewing steps to reduce the issue.

OpenAI launches $100 a month Pro plan for Codex heavy users, targets Claude Code

OpenAI has launched a $100-a-month Pro plan that sharply increases usage for its AI coding assistant Codex, CNBC reported on April 9. The new plan offers five times the Codex usage of the $20-a-month Plus plan, which OpenAI said suits everyday use. With the launch, ChatGPT consumer plans now total five tiers. Rival Anthropic runs four tiers for Claude Code, including $100 and $200 top plans.
