Hyundai Motor Group says it cannot give up on all-solid-state batteries
Hyundai Motor Group reaffirmed it will keep pursuing all-solid-state battery development, its R&D chief Manfred Harrer said. He said the company cannot quit and must stay in the competition, even as lithium-ion batteries improve. Harrer cited smaller batteries, better fast charging and longer driving range as potential advantages, and predicted a symbolic, limited-production vehicle using the technology could appear within five years. He said high raw material costs could delay mass-market adoption.
