UK to use waste heat from data centres to heat 750,000 homes
The British government is pushing a project to use waste heat from data centres and other sites and to upgrade ageing heat networks to provide low-carbon heating to more than 750,000 households. The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero will provide 90 million pounds to build new heat networks and improve existing ones. The largest project is in London, with a Thames-linked network and a plan to ship hot water by electric barge before pipes are completed.

Qualcomm plans to expand AI adoption by nurturing creators and fan communities, saying high-performance chips alone will not popularise agentic AI. Don McGuire (돈 맥과이어), Qualcomm’s chief marketing officer, said interest is the first step and belief is the start of behavioural change. He outlined four conditions to turn interest into trust and described partner types spanning communities, creators, ecosystems and brands. Qualcomm cited its 23 million-strong Snapdragon Insider community and an access program for emerging creators.

OTT industry speeds monetisation using sports content beyond ads and into paid products
South Korea\'s OTT platforms are accelerating efforts to monetise sports content, including paid products, as major matches boost daily active users. Mobile Index data showed Coupang Play and Tving saw sharp spikes tied to football and KBO baseball. Coupang Play is selling a separate sports pass and linking it to ticket presales. Tving is using KBO to expand long-term users and grow subscription and advertising revenue.
