YouTube unveils conversational tool for natural-language video editing

YouTube has unveiled a conversational editing tool that uses AI to refine long-form and short-form videos when users give editing instructions in natural language, TechCrunch reported on Sept. 23. The feature is set to be available in early 2027 on YouTube Shorts and the YouTube Create app. The company demonstrated functions such as selecting the best takes by outfit, adding music and transitions, inserting text overlays and removing pauses, while keeping creators able to adjust results on a timeline.

YouTube adds GIF, TV voice comments and paid fan communities

YouTube is strengthening its comments features and expanding creator fan-monetisation tools, including paid member communities. It unveiled GIF comments, voice-written comments on TVs and a members-only community at its Made on YouTube event. The platform is also testing personalised comment management options for creators. It is adding Hype with Jewels to its Hype feature, allowing users to buy virtual Jewels to hype more. Group chat is also coming to direct messages for video sharing.
