Banks and regulators launch quantum-resistant crypto project
Responsible Finance Institute (RFI) and crypto custody infrastructure firm Safeheron have launched a pilot project to test a quantum-resistant cryptocurrency wallet and on-chain transfer infrastructure, Cointelegraph reported. Banks and financial regulators from Europe, the Middle East and Asia are participating. The project uses an MPC protocol supporting NIST’s ML-DSA-65 standard on a quantum-resistant NEAR testnet. RFI said regulators including ADGM, GFSO and MFSA have confirmed participation.

OpenPaid secures MiCA licence amid Europe’s growing stablecoin adoption
OpenPaid has received approval under the European Union’s MiCA crypto rules, allowing it to provide regulated crypto services across the European Economic Area. The company can operate as a crypto-asset service provider and offer on- and off-ramp services between fiat currencies and stablecoins. The licence was issued by Malta’s Financial Services Authority, which has also granted MiCA licences to OKX and Gemini.

France moves to clear out unlicensed crypto firms as MiCA deadline nears
Crypto companies operating in France without authorisation may have to stop local business if they fail to secure a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) licence by June 30, local time. The French financial markets regulator AMF has demanded that firms lacking approval by the deadline begin procedures to leave France or shut down. AMF head Marie-Anne Barbat-Layani said firms must prepare wind-down plans to transfer customers and settle assets and services.
