Kakao selected to run \'AI for Everyone\' project, beta to launch in September
Kakao will build a nationwide artificial intelligence service using KakaoTalk and phone access with 14 companies and institutions including LG Uplus. Kakao said on Aug. 28 its consortium was selected as the operator for the Ministry of Science and ICT programme supporting universal use of AI services, dubbed \"AI for Everyone\". The service will include a general chatbot, public AI agents and specialised agents, with a beta due in September and a formal launch planned this year.

Companies outline strategies for South Korea\'s AI for Everyone project
Strategies by major companies joining the government’s “AI for Everyone” project are taking shape, industry sources said. While all plan to start with a general-purpose chatbot, they differ on how to combine models and connect to existing services. SK Telecom plans a full-stack approach centered on its A.X K2 model and 생활 agents linked to finance, transport and healthcare. Kakao plans to use KakaoTalk touchpoints with LG group support. KT is pursuing a multi-LLM approach with several domestic model developers. East Soft, Xenon and MKD also submitted proposals.

Six bidders including SKT, KT and Kakao join Korea\'s AI-for-all tender, selection due end-August
Six companies or consortia, including SK Telecom, Kakao and KT, have entered a tender for the South Korean government\'s AI public service project dubbed AI for All. The Ministry of Science and ICT said on Aug. 18 it received six proposals. Lead organisations are SKT, MKD, ESTsoft, Xenon, Kakao and KT. The ministry plans to select operators by end-August and launch the service within the year after an agreement and beta service.
