AI demand is near limitless, industry figures say, as chip stocks swing
Industry figures pushed back against market worries that demand for AI infrastructure is slowing. They said companies are becoming more sensitive to AI costs, but underlying demand for computing power and data centres remains strong and continues to exceed supply. They viewed moves by Meta and xAI to sell or lease spare capacity as exceptions rather than a sign of weakening demand. Executives said firms are changing how they adopt AI, focusing on value and shifting toward open-source and task-specific models.
