Tesla formalises China FSD, shifts strategy; no \'EV chasm\'
Tesla is adjusting its full self-driving (FSD) strategy in China, formalising its rollout while leaving the timing unclear and renaming the feature “Tesla assisted driving” in a move seen as aimed at regulation. Strategy shifts are also drawing attention to expansion in other Asian markets such as South Korea. Tesla is also facing production and supply-chain variables, intensifying competition from China and rivals, and broader changes in the EV market and mobility services driven by data and AI.

Taipei, Taiwan\'s scooter hub, moves toward full electrification
Taiwan’s scooter market has entered a turning point in 2026 as the shift from internal combustion engines to electric drivetrains moves beyond the experimental stage. Electric scooter sales rose in the first quarter on replacement demand for ageing gasoline models, spreading into daily commuting. Electric two-wheelers still account for a small share, though their portion has risen since end-2024. Sales trends have been uneven, while Gogoro and rivals compete on products and battery infrastructure amid subsidies.
