Uber wait times rise in some U.S. cities as prices jump, analysis finds
An analysis found that in some U.S. cities, Uber users are waiting longer for cars while paying sharply higher fares. Len Sherman, an adjunct professor at Columbia Business School, analysed 37,500 completed trips across six cities and said the time from driver matching to vehicle arrival in the first quarter of 2026 rose an average 19 percent from the first quarter of 2023. Average per-mile fares paid by passengers rose 53 percent over the same period.
