Shinsung E&G posts 3.1 billion won Q2 operating profit, returns to black

Shinsung E&G said on Thursday it posted a second-quarter consolidated operating profit of 3.1 billion won on revenue of 201.8 billion won, returning to profit from an operating loss a quarter earlier. Revenue rose 44.2 percent from a year earlier. Operating profit fell 8.8 percent from a year earlier, and the net loss narrowed to 2.2 billion won. First-half operating profit was 800 million won on revenue of 355.4 billion won.

Ford to launch sub-$30,000 electric pickup Fathom in 2027, take on Tesla

Ford unveils the name, pricing and launch schedule for its next-generation electric pickup, the Fathom, with a $28,350 base price and a starting price of $29,945 including shipping. Reports say Ford will open reservations and fully reveal the vehicle in early 2027, with customer deliveries from fall 2027. The midsize pickup debuts Ford’s new Universal EV platform and includes upgraded standard features, while key battery and charging details remain undisclosed.

HP, Asus start using China\'s CXMT DRAM amid AI-driven shortages

Global PC makers have started using DRAM from China’s ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) in some laptops after completing qualification checks, though volumes remain limited and products are not sold in the United States, the report said. Executives and supply-chain managers cited tight DRAM supply and dependence on Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix and Micron. Spot RAM prices rose more than 400 percent in 12 months, pressuring PCs and smartphones and prompting price rises and shipment cuts.
