Databricks CEO says SaaS is not dead, shift to natural language interface is key
Databricks, a cloud-based data platform, has surpassed $5.4 billion in annualised revenue and is emphasising the role of AI in the software-as-a-service market, TechCrunch reported on Feb. 9. CEO Ali Ghodsi (알리 고드시) said AI is not replacing SaaS but increasing usage, citing a surge in database use via its generative AI interface Genie. He said the key shift is from traditional user interfaces to natural language. Databricks has launched its AI-friendly database Lakebase and is accelerating market expansion.
