XRP Ledger used for tokenised government bond settlement in South Korea
Ripple\'s XRP Ledger (XRPL) has been used in South Korea to settle tokenised government bonds. Ripple worked with Kyobo Life Insurance to apply XRPL across issuance, settlement and custody of the bonds. The case aligns with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse\'s recent push for onchain bond settlement and his criticism of slow, inefficient traditional systems. Market participants say the approach is already being implemented in part, including an April transaction in South Korea.

Sh Suhyup Bank appoints Kim Yoon-ho as CEO of Sh Suhyup Asset Management
Sh Suhyup Bank said on April 13 it appointed Kim Yoon-ho, a former vice president at Hana Alternative Investment Management, as the new chief executive of its subsidiary Sh Suhyup Asset Management. The bank described the move as aimed at pushing a shift into a comprehensive asset manager spanning traditional assets and real estate alternative investments. It plans to strengthen expertise and expand synergies with the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives.

Finance service developers test Amazon AI coding tool Kiro to fix outages
Amazon Web Services on April 10 held an AI-focused hackathon for finance industry participants, AWS GameDay 2026 for financial companies. KakaoBank’s Kiki404 team won for a second straight year. The competition used scenario-based missions in a sandbox environment, including application outage recovery and modernising legacy Java code. Participants used Amazon Q Developer and Kiro. A total of 96 people from 24 financial firms took part.
