Sh Suhyup Bank said on April 13 it appointed Kim Yoon-ho (김윤호), a former vice president at Hana Alternative Investment Management, as the new chief executive of its subsidiary Sh Suhyup Asset Management.
The appointment is interpreted as a strategic move to push a transition into a comprehensive asset manager spanning traditional assets and real estate alternative investments.
Kim, born in 1971, is an alternative investment specialist who worked for about 16 years in the real estate investment division at Hana Alternative Investment Management and served as vice president. He also built field experience in related areas through roles at A&D Credit Information and Kyobo Life Insurance's loan management team.
He is particularly regarded as an expert with 28 years of experience in real estate and alternative investments, with both investment capabilities and on-the-ground experience.
Suhyup Bank plans to use the appointment to strengthen expertise in real estate and alternative investments after acquiring the asset manager. It also plans to expand operating synergies based on links with the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives.
Kim said he would focus all his capabilities on diversifying the profit structure based on the real estate alternative investment business and on elevating Sh Suhyup Asset Management into a comprehensive asset manager with strong competitiveness.
Shin Hak-gi (신학기), president of Sh Suhyup Bank, said he believes Kim will lead Sh Suhyup Asset Management into a true comprehensive asset manager that covers traditional assets such as equities and bonds as well as alternative investments including real estate, and will realise the best investment value.
