Baidu rises as Nvidia alternative in China AI chip market
Baidu is becoming a major player in China’s AI chip market, according to CNBC. The company is strengthening its semiconductor business through Kunlunxin and could absorb growing domestic demand. Baidu plans to release its M100 chip in 2026 and the M300 in 2027. Its data centres use both in-house and Nvidia chips, while it generates revenue by selling chips to third-party data centres and offering cloud services. JPMorgan and Macquarie issued upbeat outlooks for Baidu’s chip operations.
