KISA joins 8 organisations to build AI agent-based missing person search system
The Korea Internet & Security Agency said on Sept. 29 it signed a multilateral agreement at Bucheon City Hall to build an AI agent-based system for searching for missing people. KISA will work with Bucheon City, Bucheon Urban Corporation, three local police stations, Chung-Ang University, Kudo Communication, and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. The partners will link a platform under development to Bucheon’s control environment for field use from detection to search and investigation.

KISA launches 18 next-generation security projects, selects 50 companies
The Korea Internet & Security Agency said it is pushing ahead with a 2026 information security new-technology support program with the Ministry of Science and ICT. It selected 18 projects worth 12.04 billion won across four areas, including AI-based security product commercialisation, fostering AI security firms, developing a Korea-style integrated security model and introducing zero trust. KISA also selected 50 companies to carry out the projects.

Security hot issue: N2SF rollout nears as security buzz rises; countries scramble to respond to Mythos
With South Korea set to implement the National Cybersecurity Basic Guidelines in May and introduce the N2SF framework, security companies are accelerating efforts to target expected demand for related solutions. The guidelines include data controls based on classification levels, minimum security budget and staffing ratios, mandatory multi-factor authentication and new measures for AI systems and private cloud security. Interest is also rising in Anthropic’s Mythos AI model, prompting governments and companies to prepare responses.
