South Korea expands disability broadcasting to all disabled, extends effort obligation to OTT services
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media and Communications Commission approved a revision to guidelines on June 29 to expand disability broadcasting from the visually and hearing impaired to all people with disabilities under an anti-discrimination law. The changes also impose a new obligation on online video services to make efforts to provide such broadcasting, add prime-time scheduling efforts and adjust calculation rules for multi-channel operators. The regulator also released 2025 compliance results for 108 designated providers.
