Cultural content groups demand withdrawal of AI action plan they say undermines copyrights
Sixteen organisations representing creators and rights holders across cultural content fields voiced concerns over a draft South Korea AI Action Plan announced in December by the National AI Strategy Committee. They urged the immediate withdrawal and full review of Task 32, which seeks to expand the use of copyrighted works for AI training and evaluation. The groups argue the plan would undermine copyrights, misrepresent global trends, favour AI firms and rely on an opt-out approach they say is ineffective.
