Science ministry supports K-OTT fundraising, pushes overseas expansion
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT held an investment attraction showcase in Busan on June 19-20 as a side event to the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival. Companies with media technology and content planning proposals presented to domestic and overseas investors. After competition, 19 firms won on-site presentation slots. Around 30 investors and buyers joined one-on-one consultations, and three investment intent agreements were signed on site.

Broadcasting media telecom committee to help production support projects raise investment, including \'Rookie Director Kim Yeon-kyung Season 2\'
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Telecommunications Committee said it will run a special programme at the 2026 Korea International Streaming Festival in Busan to support investment and overseas expansion for domestic broadcast content. The event runs from June 18 to 21. Activities include an international streaming summit session, screenings, an investor showcase and an awards segment. A closed-door showcase will introduce this year\'s supported projects.

MSIT and Broadcast Media Commission launch AI and media policy council
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT and the Broadcast Media Communications Commission will jointly respond on artificial intelligence, media and digital regulation, aiming to reduce policy gaps as industry boundaries blur. The two agencies launched a policy council in Seoul on Tuesday. Cooperation will cover AI, media and OTT services, and digital regulation and user protection. They also plan to share parts of broadcast video AI training datasets via MSIT\'s AI Hub for research and education.
