Paid TV subscribers hit 36.15 mln in H2 2025, IPTV share nears 60 percent
South Korea\'s Broadcasting Media Communications Commission said paid TV subscribers totalled 36,150,070 in the second half of 2025, down 76,030 from the previous half. IPTV led with 21,535,256 subscribers, or 59.57 percent, followed by cable at 11,935,236 and satellite at 2,679,578. KT remained No. 1 by operator with 9,123,463 subscribers, ahead of SK Broadband and LG Uplus.

DLive TV to distribute local content to 20 countries via Prime Video
DLive TV, which operates DLive’s regional channels, will provide its original content to global viewers in 20 countries through Amazon Prime Video, it said on Wednesday. Since March 26, it has been distributing five programmes including “Forest of Wisdom” and “The Docent” to markets such as the United States, Britain, Canada and Australia. It plans to upload 72 episodes sequentially.

BAMTC launches user reporting system to curb exaggerated device subsidy ads
South Korea\'s Broadcasting and Media Telecommunications Commission said on Feb. 26 it will introduce a user-participation reporting system from March 3 to reduce consumer harm from false or exaggerated handset subsidy advertising and omissions in contracts. The system will begin around the launch of Samsung Electronics\' Galaxy S26. Users can file reports through the Korea Communication User Protection Association website. If a violation is confirmed, the reporter will receive compensation of up to 200,000 won per year.
