South Korea finalises 2026 narcotics control plan covering crackdown and rehabilitation
South Korea has approved its 2026 narcotics control implementation plan, combining tougher crime enforcement with expanded rehabilitation and prevention. The plan sets four strategies and 90 tasks, including twice-yearly joint crackdowns at airports, ports and entertainment venues, dedicated teams to block online distribution, and AI-based detection R&D. It also expands counselling and treatment, boosts campaigns and education, strengthens international cooperation, and rolls out secondary inspections of international mail nationwide.
