Kakao holds AI ideathon with five national universities; 145 students take part

Kakao will work with 145 students from five regional national universities to develop agentic AI services aimed at solving social problems. The company said it held the Kakao Tech Campus Ideathon on Aug. 22 and 23 with students from Kangwon, Kyungpook, Pusan, Chonnam and Chungnam National Universities. Kakao has shifted this year’s curriculum from web and app development to planning and developing agentic AI services.

Kakao recruits fourth cohort for Kakao Tech Campus to train regional talent

Kakao said on Tuesday it has begun recruiting trainees for the fourth cohort of its Kakao Tech Campus programme to train regional university students as artificial intelligence developers. The company will select 150 students from five national hub universities, including Kangwon National University and Pusan National University. The programme integrates frontend and backend tracks and adds a course on agentic AI services. Applications run through April 15, with classes starting online in May.
