New book says stablecoins redesign financial infrastructure
A new book co-authored by Park Jae-hyun (박재현), head of Nun21, and Park Ji-su (박지수), head of Suho.io, has been published by Hanbit Media. The authors redefine stablecoins as a core layer integrating money, payments, settlement and credit, rather than a cryptocurrency investment tool. The book analyses how KRW stablecoins could reshape banks, payments and an AI agent economy from technical, legal and financial perspectives.

Hashed Open Finance unveils Maroo testnet for KRW stablecoin blockchain
Hashed Open Finance, a unit of Web3 venture capital firm Hashed, has unveiled the first testnet for Maroo, a sovereign layer 1 blockchain aimed at supporting a Korean won stablecoin ecosystem. The company said Maroo is designed to retain public-chain openness while incorporating compliance, auditability and privacy protection from the outset. The testnet uses an OKRW token for fees and will test a dual-track model combining open and regulated transaction paths.

Wemade to hold tech seminar on won stablecoin
Wemade said on Thursday it will hold a won stablecoin tech seminar on Jan. 29 at SparkPlus Seolleung Branch 3 in Seoul\'s Gangnam district. The seminar will share practical examples of applying stablecoin infrastructure to legacy finance, fintech and payment systems, with sessions covering compliance, security and regulatory responses. Wemade will also disclose the technical structure of its stablecoin-focused blockchain, Stablenet. It plans to open Stablenet\'s testnet on Jan. 30.
