KB Kookmin Bank chief Lee Hwan-ju joins \'life-saving finance relay campaign\'

KB Kookmin Bank CEO Lee Hwan-ju (이환주) has joined the \'life-saving finance relay campaign\' aimed at preventing 피해 from illegal private lending and protecting financially vulnerable groups. KB Kookmin Bank said Lee participated after being nominated by Hana Bank CEO Lee Ho-sung and named KB Life Insurance CEO Jung Moon-chul as the next participant. KB Financial steps up consumer protection across product and service lifecycle

KB Financial Group is moving to strengthen its financial consumer protection framework across group affiliates and boost the expertise of related organisations. It held its third consumer protection working-level council on Aug. 24, bringing together chief consumer protection officers from 10 affiliates including KB Kookmin Bank, KB Securities and KB Insurance. Participants discussed consumer-focused product and service operations, stronger organisational expertise and refinements to KB Kookmin Bank’s consumer protection quality index.

KB Financial first-half net profit 3.88 trillion won, non-bank contribution 44 percent

KB Financial Group posted a first-half net profit of 3.88 trillion won, up 13.1 percent from a year earlier, helped by higher fee income. Net fee income surged 50.6 percent, while second-quarter net interest income fell and margins narrowed. Non-bank units accounted for 44 percent of group profit, with KB Securities contributing about 21 percent. The board approved a 700 billion won share buyback and cancellation and a quarterly cash dividend of 1,155 won per share.
