KB Financial joins Earth Day lights-out campaign challenge
KB Financial Group is holding a group-wide lights-out event and a participation campaign to mark Earth Day. It said it will switch off lights at major affiliate buildings and run an SNS-based campaign. The government is operating April 20 to 25 as Climate Change Week to respond to the climate crisis and expand public participation. KB Financial will also expand energy-saving measures, including voluntary vehicle restrictions and reduced lighting at its headquarters.

KB Financial holds briefing on financial data-based commercial district revitalisation index
KB Financial Group said it held a briefing on its KB Commercial District Revitalisation Index in Seoul to help boost local economies and strengthen support for small merchants. The event shared a commercial district analysis model jointly developed with KB Kookmin Bank, KB Kookmin Card and Korea Data Bank, and introduced policy and service applications. The index links about 50 data items, including customer traits and sales patterns.

KB Kookmin Card to build hybrid stablecoin payment model with Avalanche
KB Kookmin Card will build a hybrid stablecoin payment model with blockchain platform Avalanche, The Block reported on March 31. The company plans to design a card payment model based on the Avalanche public blockchain and develop a comprehensive stablecoin system covering top-ups, payments and settlement with digital asset infrastructure firm OpenAsset. The hybrid system aims to keep existing credit card features such as points benefits while lowering barriers to stablecoins and digital assets.
