Google says do not fragment content to optimise for LLMs, releases new SEO guidance
As the SEO industry increasingly fragments content to suit generative AI, Google has made clear it opposes the approach. Google’s John Mueller and Danny Sullivan said there is a misconception that large language models prefer short paragraphs and stressed Google does not use such signals. Sullivan said publishers should create content for humans, arguing human-selected content has higher long-term value.
