Japan FSA asks crypto exchanges to delay withdrawals to block fraud
Japan’s Financial Services Agency has asked cryptocurrency exchanges to introduce additional safeguards such as delayed withdrawals and pre-registration of withdrawal addresses. The request is aimed at preventing users from transferring crypto off-platform for a period after depositing fiat currency or buying digital assets. The agency made the request with the National Police Agency in response to rising cases where fraud proceeds are quickly moved out of exchange accounts.

Rakuten to give Shiba Inu, Dogecoin for posting pet dog photos
Rakuten Wallet, the cryptocurrency service of Japanese e-commerce company Rakuten, has launched a campaign that pays users Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE) for posting pet dog photos. The contest targets up to 44 million potential participants and will select 11 winners. The move reflects a trend in Japan’s retail sector to use memecoins for customer acquisition, loyalty programmes and payment services, amid regulatory easing.
