SKT supports restoration of Andong wildfire area with AI and drones
SK Telecom is using AI and drone technology to support forest restoration in areas of Andong, North Gyeongsang Province hit by wildfires. The company said it held a seminar with Yuhan-Kimberly, the Peace Forest association and nature-tech startup InveLab to share progress and plans. The partners planted 10,000 trees over 4.4 hectares and used drones to seed 10,000 seed-balls on steep slopes while monitoring vegetation changes.

SKT, Yuhan-Kimberly join hands to restore Andong wildfire damage
SK Telecom said it held a tree-planting event with Yuhan-Kimberly on April 4 in Pungcheon-myeon, Andong, to create a “Forest of Peace” in areas damaged by wildfires. About 100 employees and family members took part and planted 1,500 trees, including rare species designated by the Korea Forest Service. The companies plan to plant 10,000 trees over five years through 2030 and use AI and drones to support restoration planning.

SK Telecom to run standalone exhibition hall for AI and ESG startups at MWC26
SK Telecom said on Monday it will operate a standalone exhibition hall for promising startups at 4YFN, a side event of Mobile World Congress 2026. The company will introduce collaboration cases and innovative technologies with 15 startups in AI and ESG. Participating firms include Mesacure Company, Broz and Coxwave, alongside other AI and ESG startups. SK Telecom said it will also host an investment briefing in Barcelona on March 4 for major European venture capital firms.
